We keep investing in cybersecurity tools, but how often do we stop and ask a simple question: Are the tools we already have actually protecting us?
With AI helping attackers move faster, even small security gaps can become serious problems. An endpoint without protection, an overly permissive account, a security policy that stopped working after an update. These aren't necessarily problems that require another security product to solve. For years, we've focused heavily on detecting threats faster and responding to incidents. And while that's important, what about preventing those incidents in the first place?
In this session, Evgeniy Kharam will explore how we can get more out of our existing security investments by shifting our focus toward proactive security and continuous control optimization. Using real-world examples and relatable analogies, he'll discuss how to identify gaps, catch configuration drift, validate that security controls are doing what we expect, and measure whether our efforts are actually reducing risk.
The goal is simple: Make better use of what we already have, fix problems before attackers find them, and show real results without always reaching for another tool.
